ElunesGracePodcast #13 - Black Temple Trailer and Instance fun

News:
  • Stratics chat with WOW Developers has been postponed to Monday, May 21st. It is taking place at 3:00 - 4:30 PM PDT in the #straticsHoC channel. Visit their website for more information.
  • Black Temple trailer and Patch Notes - Holy cow!! If you have not seen this trailer check it out! It is very cool! I love the voice over work - Blizzard just continues to amaze me.

Our Instance runs:

Steamvaults - 3 boss instance (3rd wing in Coilfang Reservoir)

  • After a learning curve we were able to down the 2nd boss Mekgineer Steamrigger. We ran out of time, so we attempted Hydromancer Thespia, the 1st boss, twice. Apparently going to the 2nd boss first is easier as far as the angle of pulls, etc. We shall clear it the next time, just you wait. (Pray that Sal gets her drops) =)

Auchenai Crypts - two boss instance. (Wing of Auchindoun in Bone Wastes, Terokkar Forest)

  • Shirrak the Dead Watcher
  • Exarch Maladaar

Story time with Sal - more LORE.

Thank you for your comments and email everyone!! One email I forgot to mention in the show was from a level 20 Troll Hunter asking where to quest after the Barrens. I suggested Thousand Needles or Ashenvale, if anyone has any suggestions please leave a comment.

Thanks much and have a great week!!

As someone who just dinged a 30 horde character, I feel the troll's pain.

First suggestion is, if s/he has the expansion, grab what quests you can in Ghostlands, since they offer great rewards, and should also push you to 22. Assuming you're done with the Barrens completely (Crossroads and Camp Taurajo), the two best places to quest in your early 20s are Tarren Mill in Hillsbrad Foothills and Zoram'Gar Outpost in Ashenvale. Splintertree Post in Ashenvale has quests as well, but more for mid to late 20s.

In the mid 20s, head to Thousand Needles. Also, somewhere in there you should do a Shadowfang Keep run. The final boss is a 26 elite so assuming you're questing at least in Hillsbrad, the instance shouldn't be a problem, plus there's nice drops and it's a neat instance.

From there, it's just bouncing back and forth from Ashenvale to Thousand Needles to Hillsbrad, doing what you can at whatever time you can. I tend to bounce back and forth sticking to mostly the yellow quests.

If you do every quest each area offers, you'll ding 30 before you're completely done. I'm 31 now and I still have quests for all 3 areas and I've dropped several along the way. By then, STV, Desolace, etc. will open up for questing.

Hope that helps! :)
